mariacka street celebration

Famous for its amber traditions and unique beauty, Mariacka Street is considered to be one of the most beautiful streets in Poland. On the 10th of September the street changed into an artistic venue.

On Saturday 10th Mariacka's inhabitants, shop and gallery owners, tourists and people from Tricity stayed out until the late hours participating in many artistic events. There was a jazz concert with Polish jazzman Mikołaj Trzaska and piano concerts with Karolina Czechowska and Aleksandra Mozgiel, who played Chopin's études and waltzes. Lots of coffee shops, amber galleries and shops were full. You could have a chat with amber designers or listen to historical lectures.

At the end of the night fashion lovers could admire Aleksander Gliwiński's amber jewelery and Magdalena Arłukiewicz's simple, elegant, black dresses at the fashion show in the middle of Mariacka Street.

It was a great and cosy evening and I can't wait for the next one!

Sounds fab, esp. the Chopin. And love the photo of the girl in the yellow tights.
