oliwa park

One of my favourite places to visit in Gdańsk is Oliwa Park.
The park surrounds Oliwa Cathedral and Abbot's Palace, which now houses the Modern Art Branch of the National Museum of Gdansk.

The design of the park was modelled on Baroque French garden art and creates a great space to relax and enjoy its beauty. Take a leisurely walk under canopies of trees from every corner of the world, along colourful, flowering borders or the Oliwa stream, which here and there forms wonderful duck ponds. I like to escape into the fragrant warmth of the Palm House.

In summer the park plays host to various outdoor festivals such as Mozartiana and Parkowanie, and it's the perfect place for yoga and tai chi en plein air!
It's especially beautiful here in summer, but I can't resist a visit whatever the season - it's an oasis of calm and beauty in the heart of the city.

Ah, it looks beautiful, so tranquil! Perfect spot to take a book and people watch.
