Julia Marcell is my private Musical Discovery. Pure, unbelievably honest music that touches your heart the moment you hear the first notes.

 

I remember the first time I heard her in 2009 in Versalka Club in Sopot. Since then her musical style has been evolving. In addition to traditional instruments like piano and violin, she added electronic sounds. She writes music and lyrics for her songs and she is the main vocal in the band. 

Although Julia Marcell is Polish, she began her career in Berlin. Thanks to a website Sellaband.com and people from all over the world, the band collected money to release their first album „It might like you”. On the 3rd of October Julia Marcell launched her second album, „June”, which already gathered great reviews and by many has been compared to Björk’s style.

You can listen to Julia Marcell live on the 9th of October in Ucho Club in Gdynia (for those who don't know, a mere 30 mins in SKM train from Gdańsk). If you like powerful performances, don’t miss it, as every concert of Julia Marcell is a great blast!
