Even though I've lived in the Tri-City area for a good few years and don't really need a guide per se, when I paged through this one in the bookstore I realised that you can never know enough about the place where you live! Because this is no ordinary tourist guidebook - this is a self-proclaimed alternative guide to the Tri-City, and it doesn't disappoint!
Written by Mirosław Baran and Przemysław Gulda, two Tri-City journalists, it certainly offers an insider's point of view. It is fully bi-lingual in English and Polish with well written, concise texts compiled in a fun and creative layout. The guide is punctuated by 'People of the Tri-City' inserts where famous citizens reveal to readers their favourite places and pastimes in the area and why they enjoy living on this particular stretch of the Baltic coast. To name but a few, pianist and composer Leszek Możdzer presents a musical tour of Sopot; poet Grzegorz Kwiatkowski lets his poetry guide you through Srebrzysko Cemetary; and photographer Maciej Kosycarz reveals his favourite walks and day trips!
This a-typical guide urges you to explore the places and spaces off the beaten tourist track, and to see the day to day life of Tri-City inhabitants: "See the bunkers of Gdańsk", "Watch a film on the beach", "Compare market halls" "Look for radical billboards" "Visit an island in the middle of the city" "Don't be afraid of the slaughter" and "Meet the four virgins" are just some of the article titles to entice you to read further and go see for yourself.

That's the best kind of guide. Love the sound of 'Don't be afraid of the slaughter' and 'Meet the four virgins'! Hope you get to see some of these sights and feature them here for us :)
Yes! I will definitely use this guide to uncover interesting spots in Gdańsk... and keep you posted of course ;-)
